UCLA Conference Center: Guest Condolets

Two hours from Los Angeles and San Diego and a mile high, nestled in 40 acres of towering pines on the rugged shores of Lake Arrowhead, lies an exclusive residential retreat center. From mid-June to Labor Day weekend,The Bruin Woods Family Resort is available only to UCLA alumni families. The rest of the year—from early September until early June—the resort is known as the UCLA Conference Center, and it is open to the public for educational or business conferences, workshops, seminars and retreats…no UCLA affiliation required! The UCLA Center offers an array of beautiful conference and break-out rooms in various sizes, all appointed with the latest technology, including ultra- comfortable seating. For a cozy ambience, many of the rooms have gorgeous stone fireplace. All have outdoor views, and the windows can actually open…a rare treat these days! Conferences from 10 to 200 people are easily supported, and guests will appreciate the semi-formal gourmet meals and the extraordinary lodging.
Ah yes…the lodging! Guests may stay in two-story “condolets”, a sort of mini-ski-chalet with two bedrooms and baths, an open loft, a deck with lake or forest views and a shared living area with wood-burning fireplace. French Normandy architecture and interior decor gives each condolet a homey old-world charm, and there’s nothing “motel-ish” about these structures. They are fantastic, and we can assure you that any of your clients or guests would be thrilled to stay in one. Besides the incredible condolets, the other thing that struck us as unique is the UCLA Center’s pricing structure: it’s effectively all-inclusive! Their “Complete Conference Plan” rate includes lodging, three meals a day (and coffee and snack breaks!), meeting and social rooms, A/V equipment and full use of the recreational facilities. Your meeting planners will love you for choosing the UCLA Center, because they won’t have to haggle over room rates or fight “a la carte” fees for coffee breaks or equipment use…one reasonable daily rate covers virtually everything your group will need. No “bed tax”, no tipping. Talk about value added! It’s an upscale, lakeside resort atmosphere at a low overall cost, and the staff specializes in handling all conference arrangements so you won’t have to. We may not be UCLA grads, but that sounds smart to us.
